New Blog

Hey followers! By that I mean Josh. I think you're my only follower! But I'm totally ok with that. Anyway, I decided that "be jamin all over" was a really bad blog title so i made a new one called "Benjamin Owsley." Original right? I couldn't think of anything smart and meaningful, so I picked my name. Check it out if you care to. Peace.

Where's Waldo?

It's been really nice this Thanksgiving break spending lots of time with family and friends. People are so awesome. Today Talbot and I made a trip to Potomac Mills. I dressed up like Waldo and Talbot dressed up like a crazy detective trying to find me all over the very crowed mall. At first Talbot had a large sign that said "Where's Waldo?" but the mall cop wouldn't allow that. But we proceeded to play the game for a good hour and a half. Some people got really into it. One guy came up to me and said "After 14 f*#@!ing years I finally found you!" People would shout there he is! occasionally and some people followed me. It's also a good conversation starter. I went in many crazy stores and had a really good time. Talbot found me about three times. He's a good detective. I do believe it has become a break tradition.

Dancing

Yesterday I went to this crazy awesome dance party. Some juniors I know from Fauquier Young Life invited me to this one girl's surprise birthday party that was a pure dance party. There was no alcohol and one dude was the dj and we all just danced our hearts out for at least three hours. It was crazy yo. So much fun. We were freakin out. I think there's another one tonight. I gotta take it real easy today so I can bring everything in me to the dance floor. Peace

Moby Inspiration

Yesterday I started messing around with Garage Band on my macbook. Man it's so much fun. I think I could spend days on that. I wish was more musically talented though, but who doesn't? I've also been really diggin' Moby's newest album called Wait For Me. It kind of has a common theme throughout the entire album. It's very instrumental and wide open. For me, it creates a desire to create, similar to artists such as Sigur Ros or Explosions in the Sky. Art is wonderful to experience, but I think one of it's greatest characteristics is it's ability to give something to those who experience it, such as open-mindedness, creativity, or wonder. I'm just rambling. I made this song yesterday on GB using a basic beat and using the keys on my laptop as music keys to play some string instruments. Very fun. It's really basic and probably really bad but I think it's kind of cool. Peace

Oh yea, I have a blog

It's been way over a year since I've seen my blog. While I was supposed to be studying I somehow ended up on the Hayden Family blog and was having a lot of fun looking at pictures of Rowan. He's so cool, and super cute... in a manly way. I guess since I'm in college and all I should be keeping up with technology and internet and stuff so I'll try to blog a little. Just a few minutes ago I took my trash out. I thought it would be cool to toss it in the dumpster as I cruised by on my bike. When I threw the trash I also threw myself off balance and fell over and off my bike. There were two girls walking by and they immediately put their hands over their mouths to hold back the laughter. I got up as cooly as I could and looked at them and said, it's ok you can laugh. They both started cracking up. It was pretty funny. I don't think I'll try that one again. And it was dark so they probably didn't see my face. Haha. Well I should probably be doing work or something. My mom keeps reminding me that that's why I'm here.

Jammin

Recently I've been pumping hip hop music from my car stereo. I will throw some good music on my car stereo, roll the windows down, turn the heat on, and blast the beats. It is so much fun. If I'm wearing a hood i'll put that on or be under a baseball hat. While i'm moving to the music and driving I'll get some crazy looks from people quiet and comfortable in their neighboring cars. If I'm stuck at a stop light or going really slow I will use the brakes and accelerator to the beat causing my 1989 Volvo sedan to bounce with the beat as well as my head. For me, it's such a great feeling doing something you love especially when other people don't appreciate it but you really want them to. While I'm blaring the music I look at it as if I'm impacting the world and exposing people to a new horizon. One day, I hope to mount some speakers on the outside of my car and blast some audio sweetness. Maybe I'm just wierd, but I think it's amazing and I think Jesus would think it's cool as well.

Graphic Imagining Class

I'm currently in Graphics 1 at Fauquier High School and am loving it. I get to mess around in Photoshop and be as creative as I possibly can. Often when I've already completed an assignment or am bored I go online and try to gain some knowledge. For example, yesterday I found a website that has many Simpsons episodes and started watching one of my favorite shows. It was absolutely a beautiful experience that can potential move souls. Actually I don't know about that last part, but it's a good show.
